This unique zither-style banjo was handmade by Arthur J. Wilmshurst in London, England during the 1890s. A classic sound and ornate design make this instrument stand out.
The neck is very straight, and plays beautifully all the way up. Wear along the body is present - nicks and dings - but what youd expect from a played, yet cared for, instrument. One of the skin-top adjustment screws and pieces of hardware for the top are missing, but doesnt negatively impact tightening of the skin. The nut is a loose piece of fitted copper.
Overall, pretty remarkable condition, and extremely playable - which is really saying something, considering its age. Extra tuning peg means it could also be strung as a 6-string banjo. Comes with a case, which may or may not be the original, but does have some latch alterations and edge repair due to wear over time. Middle latch-lock not functional, and one latched detached. If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask.
